The particular service I was interested in was http://aws.amazon.com/rds/ now this is friction free deployment. It is positively slippy.

Yes it's neat. The wordpress mobile layout is good but you know what! The natty article nav buttons for prev and next are often not visible without scrolling and then I would invariably tap the browser back by mistake instead of the left article nav button.
Nice though.

Brilliant. It's open source (well the software at least). Now I want to build a robot. Or maybe a giant musical keyboard. This may not be using Arduino but I guess it could. It's carrying on the stairs vs lift theme!

Yes we do need this. Paper is so 1990s. You want all this electronically stored safely in the cloud. But it needs to be more secure than email and like a closed or invite only network so eg you won't get unsolicited epost.

It's a shame Google don't offer web hosting for free ;)

I'm struggling with this MediaTemple GS account - it's just frankly not very good. Not sure if it's just because they are US based and we are in the UK, but I have seen other sites (virb.com is a good example) that are hosted at MediaTemple that are blisteringly fast from here in the UK. You can bet your house that they aren't hosted on 'the grid' though!
